Wow - five months on and photos from our Halloween 2010 - Judgement Day pub crawl are still cropping up on the web!  I found this one while randomly searching for Dredd Movie images; it was taken in Drummonds Bar, Worcester, UK by Jon Rob Mapp; Zoom

I know this photo is a re-post, but it is possibly my favorite photo of me in my Judge Dredd costume last Halloween - so, indulge me! :-D
I’m working on another helmet, by the way…
…stay tuned!

Pics are still coming to light from Halloween - so here’s another one;
On the left: my comic-style costume - Judge Mental.
The two movie-style costumes are not my work. Zoom

More or less, mostly and probably, all done!
JUDGE MENTAL is ready to take to the streets Halloween night.
The costume was completed with black leather biker trousers (Cancer Research Charity Shop - £15) and a black leather fashion jacket (Burton’s Menswear - £40 in a pre-Christmas sale and purchased using gift vouchers that I’ve had kicking around for a while, so it cost me nothing in effect!)
Shoulder armour and badge are held in place by strong velcro.  The costume is very comfortable, flexable and I’m happy with the accuracy but I might still rework the Lawgiver Gun, if time allows.
I’ll post more pictures anon…! Zoom

Yep - just the undersuit and lawgiver to sort out…
…and maybe rework the elbow pads if there’s time.
Stay tuned! Zoom

Booted and Belted!

The belt is completely finished; the big ol’ buckle has been affixed to the leather with industrial-strength carpet tape, as have the sundry pods and pouches.  The belt ‘buckles up’ using velcro.

The boots came together incredibly quickly, and although they’re not highly detailed or accurate they are comfortable and will suffice for cosplay.  They’re simply a pair of wellingtons/gumboots with a foam toe-cap glued to each and a foam holster carpet-taped to the right boot.  They’ve been spray painted with Plasti-kote plastic primer and then a coating of hunter green.

Three weeks to Halloween, and I just need to get my undersuit and maybe rework the comic lawgiver…

My Doodle of Progress; a quick visual aid to how I’m getting on with it all.  The coloured bits are completed costume parts, the grey bits are parts-in-progress and the blank bits are yet to even be started…
shoulders finished
belt finished including the big ol’ buckle
kneepads finished
elbow pads finished
helmet finished
badge of office finished
gauntlets finished
…you might notice the body-suit is greyed in - I’ve had an idea and I’m chasing it up!
Yet to source;
boots
Lawgiver Gun
and erm… a Lawmaster Motorcycle, Mr. Slang-King..!?
